Nilaam-e-muhabbat

Kitni muhabbat hai, kitni chahat hai,

Na ye jante, na hum ye samajhte hai,

Karte hai muhabbat bas kiye ja rahe hai,

Dard muhabbat ka bas sahe ja rahe hai.

Wafa kiya hai, saacha dil ye diya hai,

Tumhi ko bas tumhi ko is dil ne chaha hai;

Bewafai pe tumhari ye ankhe hai royi,

Par muhabbat ne ab tak hume tumhi se bandh rakha hai...

Rahe na rahe kal is duniya me hum,

Jaane jayenge hamari wafao ke liye hum;

Lakho mil sakte hai in raho me haseen chehre,

Wafa-e-dil aisa na milega tume fir sanam...

FREEDOM

My pain, my sadness seemed larger to me,

Till I saw a street- child crying for food...

My struggles to succeed seemed tougher to me,

Till I saw a disabled man trying to get up and walk...

My tears seemed agonizing and unbearable to me,

Till I saw a blind man trying to cross the road...

My life seemed meaningless and miserable to me,

Till I saw a dying man craving to live...

We are all humans.. we keep craving for more...

We forget to live till life tells us - time is up...

We are busy tracking our miseries,

And before we know.... the sunset of our lives arrives...

A failed relationship, losing a loved one,

Seems very painful 'coz we don't have them anymore...

Letting the person go with peace and love in our mind,

Frees our minds of the shackles of bonds...

Replacing hate with love and sadness with happiness;

Replacing restlessness with peace and cravings with contentment...

May seem tough, may seem impossible...

But then as they say - 

Isn't impossible actually -  I AM POSSIBLE????

MY REFLECTION

In that someone, I keep searching for me,

In that someone, I look for traces of me,

I found her there, standing so near me,

As I looked in the mirror, right in front of me...

I looked at her eyes staring back at me,

I searched for the words she tried to tell to me,

I saw a furtive look in her eyes beseeching me,

Pleading with me, 'At least you understand me"...

I tried to reach out to her, she moved away from me,

I tried to console her, she just stared at me,

I knew she needed me, as much I needed her,

Till I see a look of peace, happiness smiling back at ME
